Q. If I'm already in a debt plan, can I change to iDebtPlan?
If you are unhappy with your current debt plan provider, you are more than welcome to switch to iDebtPlan. The good news is that because
we do not charge any upfront fees, your payments to creditors will continue...uninterrupted. We really do pride ourselves on providing the best
service in the industry. To transfer your plan, simply complete our standard application form.
Q. How long will it take to clear my debt?
Our goal is to always get you out of debt as quickly as possible. The actual speed in which your debt is repaid depends on how much you owe and how much you can afford to repay. Once we have requested final figures from your creditors, we will be able to provide you with a more accurate timescale.
Q. Do I pay you and my list of creditors?
NO! as soon as you sign up with iDebtPlan, you can legally stop making any further payments to the creditors that you include as part of your plan...IMMEDIATELY. Think of iDebtPlan as being the central point for the repayment of your debts, and relax in the knowledge that we will deal with your creditors for you.
Q. I owe money to several places. Is this a problem?
Signing up to an iDebtPlan is all about making life easier and less stressful. So regardless as to how many people you owe money to, simply make one single, affordable payment to us, and we will manage your debts on your behalf, on time, every month!
Q. Some people I owe money to are hassling me. Can you stop them?
Becoming a client of iDebtPlan means you are no longer alone when dealing with your debts. We deal
with and manage every aspect of your personal debt, including reducing the communication with your
creditors and/or debt collectors. Simply refer any phone calls, letters, SMS and email correspondence to your personal account manager.
Q. Can I speak to someone about my debt problems?
Of course! Once you sign up with iDebtPlan, you will be allocated with a friendly, personal account manager who will be happy to discuss your problems - and the solution - on a one-to-one basis, all done over the phone or however you would prefer to communicate.
Q. Can I do a Joint application?
Yes, absolutely. To do this simply complete our standard application form and include ALL of the debts that you want to
cover in the plan (yours and your partners/2nd applicant). Once we have received your signed pack, simply ask your
account manager to add your partners details to the plan.
Q. Can I add a debt at a later date?
Yes. If you forget to add one of your debts, don't worry, you can add more on at any time. Simply pick up the phone or email us with the details of your additional debt (s).
Q. Do you offer loans?
No. Our main purpose is to get people out of debt. We offer debt solution products such as Debt Management Plans, IVAs, Trust Deeds and Bankruptcies.
Q. What about my credit rating?
Your credit rating will be affected in the short term, and possibly longer.
However, if you are having financial problems it is likely that your credit rating will already have been adversely affected. It is more beneficial to be proactive and deal with the issue now, rather than allow it to escalate.
Why Choose iDebtPlan?
Upfront Fees - We Don't Charge Them!
You may not be aware of this, but the majority of debt management companies in the UK charge upfront fees! These fee's can vary, but they typically range anywhere from £180 to £495.
iDebt Plan do not charge any upfront fees!
Why We Don't Charge Any Upfront Fees?
The reason that we do not charge any upfront fees, quite simply, is because we do not have to! We do not
employ a legion of sales people to sell our service, which reduces our costs, which in turn allows us
to pass our saving back to you, in the form of not charging upfront fees.
How It Works
It really is very, very simple!
Let's suppose Mr Smith has debts of £8000! And let's say he earns £1000 per month.
Mr Smith has to spend £800 per month towards his essential living costs (such as rent/mortgage, food, child care etc).
Mr Smith then has a Payday Loan, a credit card and various other bills, which cost £400 per month.
His monthly outgoings are £1200 per month!!
Mr Smith is being asked to pay £200 per month more than he can afford!!!
He is being constantly harassed, threatened and chased by the people that he owes money to - Hassle that he can do without!!
Mr Smith needs an iDebtPlan...
iDebtPlan know that Mr Smith can only afford to repay £200 per month towards his debts (half the amount that he is
currently being asked to pay). iDebtPlan then approach the people that Mr Smith owes money to, and explain his current situation.
iDebtPlan request that all interest and charges are frozen on his debts, but perhaps more importantly,
explain that Mr Smith is only able to repay £200 per month (opposed to the current £400).
Mr Smith now pays £200 per month towards his debt, which is managed by iDebtPlan.
In addition to this, iDebtPlan contact Mr Smith's creditors and insist that ALL future contact (including telephone
calls, letters, SMS and email), are to be directed them (not to Mr Smith).
Mr Smith is able to get his life back on track...
iDebtPlan on average help over 300 people just like Mr Smith everyday, and we can help you too.
Key Features & Fees
Unlike the majority of debt companies WE DO NOT CHARGE ANY UPFRONT / SETUP FEES. Our service has NO UPFRONT FEES.
Like the majority of debt companies, we do charge an on-going (monthly) management fee of a flat £38.
This is INCLUSIVE of your payment and is NOT extra. e.g. If you can afford to repay £150 towards your debts, £38is retained as a fee and £112 is distributed towards your debts.
What does my fee cover
We deal with all aspects of managing your debt (including):-
1. Dealing with all forms of creditor communication (letters, emails, phone calls, text messages).
2. Ensuring that all creditor communication is directed towards us (stopping you from being hassled).
3. Ensuring that payments are made promptly to your creditors.
4. Agree a monthly payment with your creditors based on what you can afford.
5. Negotiate with your creditors with the intention of having all interest and charges frozen.
6. On-going personal financial health check to see if we can save you money in other ways.
7. Dedicated account manager (on hand via phone or email whenever you need assistance).
Important Considerations
While a financial management plan has many benefits, you should take into account the following points.
Credit rating
Entering into a plan means contractual payments will be missed and your debt and repayment term could increase. Your credit rating will be impaired and it may be harder to obtain credit in the medium to long term as records are retained by credit reference agencies for six years. However, repaying your debt via an FMP is more favourable to your credit rating than continuing to miss payments.
Not all debts can be included
See
debts we can help with for more details of what can and cannot be included in a plan.
Your responsibilities
It is your responsibility to continue to make payments to creditors that are not/cannot be included in your plan. Failure to pay any taxes, fines, child support payments and other certain debts could result in a loss of access to essential goods or services or repossession of, or eviction from, your home. If the arrangement fails and you do not make alternative arrangements to pay your creditors, there is a risk of bankruptcy.
Fees
Any advice we give is free of charge, up to the point a solution is agreed upon and provided, where the fees listed above are charged for providing Financial Management Plans.
